Celtic v Motherwell (Match Stats)

Celtic 6

xG 2.43

(Kyogo 21 & 43, Turnbull 40, Jota 59, Giakoumakis 68 & 91)

Motherwell 0

xG 0.81 Again the 60-75 minute mark throws up some interesting stats with Celtic only having 87 touches in this period.

For the season this had been the period Celtic had scored the least goals all season up until the last 3 games with 2 goals in 60-75 minutes in the last 3 games. However for goals conceded it is 8 conceded in this period which is double the 2nd most at 4 (45-60 mins).

There was only one goal conceded in 75-90 mins which was the first game of the season at Tynecastle where Carter-Vickers and Hart weren't playing.

Celtic started the first 30 minutes against Motherwell with 88% possession and scored throughout all the 15 minute periods with the exception of the first 15 minutes.

However although it was a dominant performance for possession and touches the game v St Johnstone was more dominant.

The average for the season sees 60-75 minutes as the lowest for touches and possession with 75-90 minutes having the most touches (although injury time would be a contributor here). Celtic making subs would make an impact on touches during the 60-75 minutes period but even still the possession (at 67%) is still the lowest.

Celtic lined up with;

- Hart

- Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt and Taylor

- Rogic, McGregor and Turnbull - Jota, Kyogo and Maeda

There were five changes from the midweek game versus Dundee Utd with the attacking 5 players all being changed.

McCarthy, Ideguchi, Giakoumakis, Welsh and Bitton all came on as subs. Top 3 for xG were Giakoumakis 0.58, Jota 0.55 and Maeda 0.43.

For xA it was Jota 0.84, Ralston 0.54 and Maeda 0.38.
