Celtic 3 (Forrest 40, Ajeti 74 and Jullien 91)
Motherwell 0
Celtic's first was a bursting run from McGregor from his own half then he passed to Forrest to score.
Celtic's started with Christie dribbling on the right wing and then he switched it to Ajer who passed to Ajeti to score.
Celtic finished the game off with another goal created from our own half with Jullien winning a tackle then running the length of the pitch to take a pass from Frimpong who had carried the ball 30 yards. Jullien then neatly finished the move off.
Forrest was Man of the Match with a goal, 5 shots (2 on target), a key pass, 44 accurate passes, 90% pass accuracy and 73 touches.
McGregor also had another solid game with 4 key passes, 87 accurate passes, 92% pass completion, 118 touches, 9.3% of the possession and a shot at goal.
Celtic had an NP xG of 1.7 while Motherwell's was only 0.3 which was the lowest of any opponent we had faced in the league so far.
Celtic had 17 shots with 5 being on target. Possession was 67%, Passing accuracy was 91%. Celtic had 7 corners and touches in the box were a very good 40. Total Passes were 644.
There were no changes from the previous game where Neil Lennon had been criticised for his team selection.
Celtic lined up with;
- Barkas
- Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer and Taylor
- McGregor and Brown
- Forrest, Ntcham and Elyounoussi
- Christie
Klimala came on for his 5th sub appearance in 6 (only missing the Ferencvaros game - the game we didn't play a forward in the starting 11). Ajeti came on for his 4th game in a row and Frimpong came on for his 5th game out of 6.
Fans view - Neil Lennon said after the Ferencvaros game that it was down to too many players wanting away. He threw the players under the bus. Then he plays those same players in the following game and plays a team again without a forward when there are forwards on the bench.
A key positive from the game was our passing accuracy was 91% which was our best of the season so far and also 40% of the game was played in the final third which was our best of the season as well.
