Match Stats (Ferencvaros v Celtic)

Ferencvaros 2 (Juranovic 11 OG and Uzuni 86) xG 0.72 Celtic 3

(Kyogo 3, Jota 23 and Abada 60) xG 1.58 Before kick off our probabilities of winning the game were 44%, a defeat 30% and draw 26%.

Our right side had the most attacks at 41% with 37% on the left and 22% in the centre. The centre being down from 32% on Saturday. Crosses successful.

31% of the game was played in Ferencvaros's defensive third and 30% in ours with 39% in the middle third.

Again our first 15 minutes was very dominant with 65% possession and 126 touches. We also started the 2nd half with 127 touches so two decent starts to each half. Overall our possession was 56%.

We had a total of 697 touches and 430 accurate passes at 84%. (In the first game it was 892 touches, 637 accurate passes and 91% pass rate but obviously that was a home game). 28% more touches and 48% more passes in the home game.

Aerials won was 71% v 29% in Celtic's favour and tackles won was 64% for Celtic and 52% for Ferencvaros.

Our team line up was; - 15 Hart - 56 Ralston, 20 Carter-Vickers, 57 Welsh and 88 Juranovic - 14 Turnbull, 6 Bitton and 42 McGregor - 11 Abada, 8 Kyogo and 17 Jota

Kyogo coming in for Giakoumakis and Welsh coming in for the injured Starfelt.

Johnston, Giakoumakis, Forrest came on as subs for the front three in a straight swap and McCarthy and Scales came on for the injured Bitton and Welsh.

Ralston had the most touches at 83 with Juranovic and Turnbull close behind on 82 and 74. Most accurate passes was Welsh on 52 with Juranovic and Ralston next on 49 and 47. Best accuracy was Welsh on 91% with Bitton on 89% and Carter-Vickers on 88%. Turnbull had 5 key passes with Kyogo and Abada having 2 each. Top rated players were Kyogo 8.51, Abada 8.34 and Turnbull 8.17 and personally I'd have loved to seen some running stats as I think that was Turnbull's best game for workrate. Maybe confirmation bias due to a couple of big moments tracking back and tackling but nonetheless that in itself is a positive sign.

xG of 1.58 was 0.47 higher than Ferencvaros's at Celtic Park and was achieved from 12 shots giving us a decent xG per shot of 0.13. Ferencvaros had 15 shots but an xG of only 0.72 and we reduced them to a set play xG of 0. 6 of Ferencvaros's shots were in the box (40%) and 8 our ours were in the box (67%). xG per played achieved was Kyogo 0.76, Abada 0.42, Welsh 0.13, Turnbull 0.11, Ralston 0.08, McGregor 0.05 and Jota 0.03. Turnbull had 0.62 xA

Overall a satisfactory night with a lot of positive signs in that performance.
